Our Story
We are a full-service firm dedicated to helping our clients protect and grow their hard-earned assets. Your choice to work with McGinn Financial Services is the first step in getting guidance based directly on your needs and goals. We are not bound to any insurance or investment companies, so we have the freedom to structure our business in a manner that best serves our clients. We are an independent financial services firm, but we are not alone. We are part of a large branch called Premier Wealth Management® and we also utilize a broker-dealer called Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. (Cambridge). These firms provide a variety of services for us to better serve you.
Stephen T. McGinn, CFP®, ChFC®, CFS®
Steve started his practice on October 1 ,1987, with Delaware Valley Financial Group. He established McGinn Financial Serices on January 1, 2001. With 35 years of experience, Steve helps individuals, professionals, and small-business owners develop, implement, and maintain long-term financial plans. He also specializes in providing advice on retirement planning, education planning, and insurance protection.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University; FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 securities licenses; and life and health insurance licenses. Steve holds his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation, and Certified Fund Specialist® (CFS®) designation. As a CFP® professional, Steve upholds an ethical standard to put his clients’ interests ahead of his own at all times. The ChFC® designation has prepared him to meet the advanced financial planning needs of individuals, professionals, and small-business owners. In addition, earning the CFS® designation has equipped him with the skills to evaluate and compare financial measurements and benchmarks, as well as the knowledge and tools needed to construct a suitable and efficient portfolio for clients.
Steve is an active member of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, the Delaware County Estate Planning Council, the Chester County Estate Planning Council, the Delaware County Attorney/CPA Forum, the Financial Planning Association, and the Institute of Business and Finance. He resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with his wife Colleen. They have four children, Ryan, Sean, Maura, and Brendan.
Ryan McGinn, CFP®
Ryan joined McGinn Financial Services in 2021 after spending 10 years in Sales and Operations roles with multiple large investment management firms.
Ryan holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses; life and health insurance licenses; and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of the Holy Cross.
Colleen McGinn
As the office manager, Colleen provides administrative support and client care and service. Prior to joining Steve, Colleen spent 19 years as a Registered Nurse, working in cardiac care and intensive neonatal care.

We work collaboratively with our clients’ other advisors and our partners – third-party money managers, independent third-party administrators, and insurance brokers to help our clients navigate through their plan. We are an independent financial services firm, but we are not alone.
