Personal Retirement

At McGinn Financial Services, we’ll collaborativelly develop a retirement plan focused on your specific goals, desired outcomes, and comfort levels. lt will take into account all of your sources of income, including social security, pensions, and any other sources of deferred income. lf you have not yet retired, it will provide a roadmap quantifying what you will need to do leading up to retirement. lf you have already retired, it will provide a roadmap to guide you through your retirement years with your goals in mind, such as maintaining your desired standard of living, addressing inflation, and ensuring your monies last. Your plan will factor in both federal and state income taxes and inflation. lt will determine the most tax efficient liquidation strategy in an effort to minimize your tax liability and maximize your portfolio growth. lt will analyze your social security retirement benefits to determine the most efficient time to begin receiving them. lt will analyze your portfolio asset allocation to make sure it is consistent with your objectives and tolerance for risk and volatility. lt will enable us to model hypothetical scenarios or changes to your plan such as retiring early, delaying retirement or social security, downsizing your home, or working part-time. lt will provide “what-if’ scenarios such as a bear market at retirement, higher taxes after retirement, a rise in inflation, to stress test your projected outcomes. Ultimately, it will serve as a tool to give you a track to run on initially, monitor how you are doing moving forward, and quantify any changes that will or may likely occur over time regarding your circumstances, objectives, and comfort levels.

Investment Management

Asset Allocation is defined as the implementation of an investment strategy that attempts to balance risk versus reward by adjusting the percentage of each asset or asset class in an investment portfolio according to the investor’s risk tolerance, goals, and investment time frame. The focus is on the characteristics of the overall portfolio. Asset Allocation is based on the principal that different assets and asset classes perform differently in different market and economic conditions.

At McGinn Financial Services, we partner with several independent Third-Party Money Managers including Brinker Capital, Mariner Wealth Advisors, and Manning & Napier. We utilize these managers to establish your portfolio with an asset allocation that is consistent with your goals, time horizon, and comfort level regarding volatilty and risk. A long-term, proactive approach is maintained, diversifying your portfolio among multiple asset classes such as cash, bonds, stocks, real assets, and alternative investments. Both active and passive strategies are utilized, investing in individual secutities, actively-managed and indexed mutual funds, and ETF’s (exchange traded funds). Your portfolio and individual investments will be continuously monitored with an eye on current and changing economic and market conditions. Your portfolio will be rebalanced to remain in line with your stated goals, time horizon, and comfort level regarding volatilty and risk.

Asset Protection & Insurance

What if you were to experience a sudden death, injury, or illness today? Would your family and loved ones be cared for in a way that would make you proud? Although most people recognize the benefits of planning for the future, they often overlook the need to manage the risks that can threaten their financial well-being. Insurance is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against an unexpected event or loss that could affect financial goals. Being properly insured is critical to protecting your financial future and providing a sense of security for you and your loved ones.

Protection Solutions
There are many uses for insurance, and lacking in any one of these key areas can expose you and your family to potential financial ruin. At McGinn Financial Services, we offer a variety of insurance solutions, including:

  • Life insurance to provide family protection, satisfy estate liquidity needs, and facilitate business continuity
  • Disability insurance to provide financial support in the event that you are unable to work because of an illness or injury
  • Long-term care insurance to cover the cost of long-term care services not typically covered by traditional health insurance or Medicare

Group Retirement Plans

In today’s world, retirement planning is more important than ever. As an employer, you know that to continue to grow your business you need to manage costs and retain valuable employees. A well-designed retirement plan can help you accomplish both goals. An appealing plan builds loyalty with your employees and certain costs related to company retirement plans are tax-deductible at the firm level. Through careful planning, your company can offer a retirement plan that helps employees feel appreciated and provides the tools needed to achieve their retirement goals.

We partner with group retirement plan vendors like American Funds and Brinker Capital who provide the fiduciary liability protection you will want as a plan sponsor. Their investment menus will provide your employees the opportunity to construct their own portfolio or choose a pre-built actively-managed model or target-date fund based on their personal risk profile and time horizon. We partner with local, independent Third-Party Administrators who provide the proactive, comprehensive design and administrative services that your plan will need. These TPAs will work to ensure your plan is initially designed with your specifics goals and needs in mind and to ensure it adapts to any changes in your goal and needs. They will also guide you through the ever-changing and complex rules and regulations set forth by the lRS, Department of Labor, and Federal Government.

We also provide ongoing education to help employees gain the financial know-how they need to set realistic goals and create the necessary plans to work toward them.
